Ik ben al een palm gebruiker sinds jaar en dag. Begonnen met een Palm III ben ik later over gestapt op een Palm Tungsten en sinds kort (2007-03-10) op een Palm TX. De opties met WiFi, BlueTooth en een 320x480 scherm maken het een erg handig apparaat. Op een telefoon er bij zat ik niet te wachten want ik vind het niet handig om een telefoongesprek te moeten onderbreken om een adres op te zoeken of zo.
Met tools als NetChaser en APmapper kun je wireless accesspoints onderweg in kaart brengen en als POI vastleggen in je Tom Tom navigator. Maf genoeg heb ik wel een vreemd fenomeen ontdekt met de APmapper software. Bij mij werkt het alleen als ik een andere kaart kies als de Benelux.
Voor de uitdaging om externe POI files op de Palm te krijgen heb ik een charmante oplossing gevonden. De CardReader software laat je je SD card benaderen als een USB Mass Storage device. De CardReader software is een goede investering geweest.
Ik overweeg om mijn AP lijst online te zetten en andere jagers de gelegenheid te bieden hun lijst van vrije Access Points toe te voegen. Wie zelf iets wil doen op dit punt dient de ov2tools te scoren. Zie ook: ADDING NEW POINTS-OF-INTEREST DATABASES TO TOMTOM NAVIGATOR. Inmiddels heb ik de tools af en die staan op mijn APMAP pagina.
Vergeet niet om de instructies over de reset opties te lezen. Ik had die nodig na de overgang van wintertijd naar zomertijd. Zie ook: Het herstarten (reset) van je Palm

The option of BlueTooth, WiFi and 1 320x480 screen make it a usefull device. I wanted a seperate phone as I can not combine some action in a single device.
With tools like NetChaser and APmapper one kan map Wireless Access pOints on the road and add them as POI to the Tom Tom navigator. There is however a bug in the APmapper software where I hacve to select anothe map instead of my native BeNeLux map.
Getting files from and to the Palm is in fact easy with the CardReader software. It will allow you to access your SD card as a USB Mass Storage device. So I found this CardReader software a good investment.
I am considering to publish my AP lists and allow fellow chasers to add the free Access Points as well to a database. It will propably happen over a rainy weekend afternoon.
