I find that some aliases with PowerShell make a lot of sense to me and I will put them in this page.
I strongly recommend you create your own profile on machines where you work on regular basis.
Here is mine:
# # Profile Script for Hugo van der Kooij #
### Add $HOME\PowerShell to my ModulePath $PADJE = [Environment]::GetEnvironmentVariable("PsModulePath") $PADJE += ";$HOME\PowerShell" [Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable("PSModulePath",$PADJE) Remove-Variable PADJE
### Setup my aliases Set-Alias dig Resolve-DnsName
Not much yet but it will grow.
Under both the normal PowerShell prompt I open my profile with:
notepad $PROFILE
Under PowerShell ISE it is in lower case:
notepad $profile
The trick is to remember they are not the same file!
